Our Vision for the Parish Partnership
Our two Parishes share a vision as a result of our Franciscan associations. How do we manage this shared vision? It's done by faith, commitment to our respective Parishes and a shared Church vitality. Members of our Parishes share a commitment to service in their own community and to reaching out to those in need who may be outside the parish community.
The Franciscan Province of the Holy Spirit presents this vision as Step One of implementing the 'Provincial Policy for Parish Ministry.'
Franciscan (OFM) Parishes should be signs of God's love for all people, following the example of Jesus through building faith communities that:
are alive with a real sense of gospel in and to our world actively support and encourage one another in that mission
recognise, affirm and use the gifts given by God to each person
reflect the charism of Francis and Clare
want to come together to celebrate their faith in Jesus
feel confident and competent to continue the life and mission of the Catholic Church
realise the call of all the Baptised to fulfil their mission in the spirit of Collaboration
are aware of and respect the complimentary nature of men and women working together, as seen in the example of Francis and Clare
From the above, three Major Goals emerge:
1. Gospel living
2. Life in fraternity, Partnership with all
3. Service
