The sacrament of Confirmation is about receiving the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Children making their Confirmation should be in Year 6 or above in school and need to have celebrated First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion prior to their Confirmation.
In order to help your child understand the significance of this occasion, it is, of course, necessary for them to complete a period of preparation and formation. If your child attends St Francis of Assisi Regional Catholic Primary School, the preparation is undertaken at the school. If this is not the case, it will be necessary for your child to undertake a formation programme with the Parish. This programme is run in partnership with parents/guardians and the details of this are provided at our Information Session. This includes a mandatory Formation Session at the parish. Please note, completion of this programme is compulsory for all candidates.

Please note that attendance at the Information Session & Rehearsal is compulsory for all candidates and at least one parent/carer.

Note: A copy of the candidates Baptismal/First Reconciliation/First Holy Communion certificate/s must be included if the sacrament/s was not celebrated at Edgecliff or Paddington Parish. There is a suggested fee of $35 to cover the administrative costs of running the programme.
Please note, the form and requested documentation must be completed for all candidates including those who attend St Francis Regional Primary School.
