First Reconciliation

St Francis of Assisi, Paddington
Information Session for Parents & Guardians via Zoom: Wednesday 23rd September 2020, 6pm

The celebration of First Reconciliation is the first stage of our Sacramental Program and is open to students in Year 2 and above. Reconciliation is a sacrament of faith, forgiveness and mercy where we learn how to make good choices in the exercise of our free will.

In order to help your child understand the significance of this occasion, it is, of course, necessary for them to complete a period of preparation and formation prior to receiving their First Reconciliation. Our program is run in conjunction with parents/guardians in recognition of the important role you hold in the development of your child’s faith.

Due to the complexities of the current COVID-19 pandemic our 2020 First Reconciliation program will be conducted through a combination of home study and one on one support from the Parish to your family as opposed to in a group setting. This year the First Reconciliation will also be conducted in individual appointments rather than as a group celebration. These adjustments are made with the health and safety of your family in mind.

More information about the First Reconciliation and the formation program will be provided at the mandatory information session for parents/carers on the 23rd of September. This session must be attended by one parent/carer from each family and will be conducted via Zoom.

While there is no cost for sacraments we do welcome contributions to our program, the suggested donation for the First Reconciliation 2020 program is $15 per candidate. All donations made go directly to the costs of operating the program.

The First Reconciliation Program is now open for 2020. Please return the enrolment form to administration@stfrancis-stjoseph.com by Thursday 17th September. If you have any questions about the program or need to discuss the particular requirements of your family and children please contact Ruth on 9331 4043.

If your child attends St Francis of Assisi Regional Primary School, the preparation is undertaken at the school – please contact the school for more details and for the 2020 enrollment form.
